About
I'm Alexis Sánchez, a sports journalist from Sonora and a lucha libre fan since I was a kid. Since Christmas 2018 I've been taking travelers to the arenas of Mexico City.
“I've followed lucha libre as a fan and as a journalist. This is the night I'd plan for a friend visiting the city.”

How it started
I grew up watching lucha libre on television in Sonora, in northern Mexico, where live shows didn't come around often. When work brought me to Mexico City, Arena México and Arena Coliseo were suddenly a short ride away.
I wanted to go to as many shows as I could, and to share what I know about the history and culture behind the masks. Lucha Mexico Experience grew out of that. The first night was Christmas Day 2018, a Tuesday at Arena México.
I host it as a fan, not as a tour guide: with respect for the tradition, for the wrestlers and for the people who fill the arenas every week.
Before lucha libre
From 2000 to 2010 I worked in radio, television, newspapers, magazines and online media in Sonora, covering culture, sports, politics and business.
In 2009 I received the Premio Ángel Fernández, the award the Mexican Federation of Sports Journalists gives each year to a young sports journalist at its national congress. The Sonora Association of Sports Journalists nominated me three years in a row, and the award recognized my research on the history of sport in Sonora.

Lucha Mexico Experience is operated by Lucha Mexico Experience LLC. Companies, conference organizers and international delegations work with a formal business, and direct bookings are paid securely online.
Our local partner
We start at Taquería El Caifán, a small local taquería with only three locations. The food is the real thing, not a diluted tourist version; the service is excellent, the facilities are clean and comfortable, and we keep asking our guests what they think of every dish.

How we host
Public nights are capped at 10 guests.
From the taquería to the end of the show, then a walk to a quiet pickup point, waiting until everyone is on their way.
A local taquería, the city's public transport and seats bought only through official channels: the arenas' box offices, the CMLL and Ticketmaster.
